When Pod-Ceal is applied at the beginning of maturity; the product forms a unique elastic, semi-permeable film over the pods. This film allows moisture to pass out through the semi-permeable membrane, but not in. The membrane also allows the free flow of gases both in and out. The continued movement of water out allows the crop to dry to the required moisture levels for harvest.
By preventing the absorption and the subsequent drying of the pods, reduces the physical strain on the pod seam. The pod seam has a greater chance of keeping the pod complete, keeping the seeds in the pod, allowing them to reach full maturity.
RAIN OR DEW IS KEPT OUT
By spraying with Pod-Ceal at the beginning of maturity, a unique elastic, semi-permeable, membrane forms on the pod. This reduces the absorption of rain or dew so that the drying pod does not expand, putting strain on the pod’s seam.
INTERNAL MOISTURE IS LET OUT
Moisture passes out through the semi-permeable membrane and allows the crop to dry to the required moisture level.
No expansion or contraction occurs. This prevents strain on the pod seam. The pod seam holds, thus extending harvesting time, and keeps the pod filling longer, while reducing shatter before and during harvesting.
Shatter is a direct result of the weakening of the sutures (seams) that holds the pod together. The use of Pod-Ceal can help to preserve the integrity of the pod sutures.
